I am a senior at Marist College studying fashion design, currently seeking a fashion design career opportunity. Over the past few semesters, I have gained knowledge on the fashion industry and the inner workings of fashion design. My experience with fashion strictly started as a two-dimensional base in the artwork and design drawing courses, and expanded into a three-dimensional expertise in the garment making process.
My courses have educated me in the creative process of designing a collection, as well as the technical details behind construction. I have experience creating technical flats digitally and by hand, as well as knowledge of Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. When it comes to three-dimensional capability, my knowledge came while abroad in Paris. In Fall 2015, I attended Paris College of Art and Mod’Spe Paris Fashion Business School. I took a patternmaking and a draping class at Paris College of Art where I designed and created garments of my own. I later received notice that I made the Dean’s List at Paris College of Art for my course work and grades for the Fall 2015 semester. I have also had professional experience from my time spent with Elizabeth and James, where I put my educational practice to use.
With my educational and professional background, I am confident that my experience and skills have made me a strong candidate for an fashion design position, as well as my creativity, artistic ability, and positive attitude. I find that I am incredibly organized and can work well under pressure, in hopes to benefit any company.
